Each month, the post with the most votes will receive a $100 pirze. The person who submited the post will receive $50 and the person who wrote the post will receive $50. If the same person wrote and submitted the post, that person will recieve the full $100.

This prize is in addition to the yearblook competition to find the best post of the day, winning this prize will have no effect on an entries eligibility to be included in the book at the end of the year.

Details of the prize

1. Posts written between the first and the last day of each month will be eligible.
2. Votes cast until 11:59:59 Eastern Time on the last day of the following month will count.
3. Prizes will be paid out via paypal the 15th of the month after voting ends.
4. E.g. the first prize will be paid out June 15 for the best post in April 2008 as determined by votes cast thru the end of May 2008
5. If you do not have a Paypal account, you are ineligible to recieve the prize. Paypal accounts are free.
6. If the submitter responds that they are not the author, we will attempt to contact the author of the post via their contact form, comments section of their post, and email address (as available).
7. We will ask the author to verify authorship via temporary placement of a unique identifier on their site.
8. If we are unable to contact the author and/or verify their authorship by the 15th of the payout month, the author of the post will forfeit their right to claim the prize. The submitter is entitled to their half of the prize regardless of if the author is verified.
9. For an author to be eligible to recieve their prize, they must have a link to yearblook.com on their blog at the time of payment.

Note:

We reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason including but not limitecd to: vote fraud (bots to vote on your entries, paying people to vote, swapping votes - encouraging people to vote is ok), objectionable material, hate speech, etc. At this time, anonymous votes will be included in the tally to determine the winner. We reserve the right to stop including anonymous votes, or change the ranking algorithm, at any time, without notice. We reserve the right to change the terms of this prize or discontinue the prize at any time.
